Antarktis (2nd Ed)

In 2001, a grant from the Swedish Secretariat for Polar Research allowed Gerry Johansson (b. 1945, Swedish) to visit the inaccessible and unique landscape of Antarctica on a two-month research trip. The trip was accompanied by a large format camera and a fearless curiosity. The series of photographs culminated in an unusual perspective in relation to reality, capturing the surprising non-distancing relationship between physicality and nature. The series was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2003.
