In 1973, the magazine was published by Shobunsha under the name "Wonderland" by Jinichi Uekusa and others. The magazine changed its name to "Takarajima" after the third issue, and temporarily ceased publication after the sixth issue the following year.
The copyright was then transferred to JICC Press, and the magazine was reissued in June.
The editorial staff changed from Tetsuro Takahira, Toru Koizumi (Kohei Kitayama), and Shinji Ishii, and the magazine focused mainly on subcultures, including features on drugs and spiritual culture.
