A total of 258 works on display will showcase Shomei Toumatsu's 50-year trajectory, from ‘Light and Shadow in Post-War Japan’, which includes works from his student days immediately after he began photography, to ‘Interface’, including the previously unpublished colour work ‘Sea of Mud “Breathing Earth” (1996-97), shot in Isahaya Bay, Nagasaki Prefecture, which was shown at the time.
